Set it to auto reinvest and forget about it. If you maximise an ISA every year they’re competitive.

Singularity :
Premium bonds are only useful to 40% and over tax payers, that have already maxed out their ISA and employer match pension contributions, don’t forget most employer run pension schemes produce returns far short of market benchmarks, but generally yes, premium bonds are a poor choice and should never be more than 5% of your investments.

Worth mentioning that premium bonds are tax free though so if you’re on 40% tax bracket are pretty good

Agreed, not great for investment and growth but risk free. capital is not at risk and can be used to protect your savings from HMRC if you hit the £1000 non taxable limit and have maxed your ISA.

You need a critical amount invested to win I think it is around 8k, it is more of a lucky dip than a way to earn interest. It is based purely on luck not skill and the money is available to use on areas that have better returns.

you can apply this argument to any savings account. It's somewhere safe, if you've maxed out your £85k with banks A, B & C etc. And while there's always some funds that do well, chances of you getting the right one? Slim.

pension and ISA allowance maxed so for next 7-10 years I will use them, also got GIAs as well, but agree only if you get an above average win rate then great otherwise not the best

This is exactly how I use them. SIPP and pension are maxed out and I save short term cash in PB.

For CGT though and say you get a windfall and have already maxed out your SIPP and ISA? Or is there a more efficient way?
