June 28th, 1969, at one in the morning in Greenwich Village, New York, the NYPD descended on the Stonewall Inn for a surprise raid. Within minutes 13 visibly queer patrons were apprehended for "bootleg liquor." While the exact events remain clouded in a lack of an omnipotent presence, the reverberation that followed echoed through the Western world.
