@open.heart2023: It’s crazy how in the UK, something as serious and painful as domestic violence is actually used against mothers by social services. You’d think that if a woman finds the strength to escape abuse or even just speaks up, that she’d be protected, supported. But no — instead, she gets questioned: Why didn’t you leave sooner? Why did you stay? Why didn’t you protect your child? And if she does leave? Why did you disrupt your child’s life? It’s like no matter what you do, they twist it. And here’s the worst part — instead of targeting the abuser, they go after the mother. They say the child is “at risk of emotional harm,” not because of the man who caused the harm, but because the mum didn’t somehow magically stop it. So they remove the child… from the safest person they have. It’s not about helping families — it’s about control. And they use domestic violence as a weapon, a loophole, an excuse to remove kids, even from the ones fighting to protect them. Nobody talks about that enough. But it’s real.
