My mom was this way! Before I was 16, I had 3 lobe piercings and once I did turn 16 I could get any tattoo or piercing I wanted, she would sign the paperwork. I could dye my hair in cheer offseason. It was nice to have a parent so supportive. Now my grandmother on the other hand, always has to make comments about my piercings, tattoos or my hair.

Agree on these.. my mom was like this with me.. the ONLY thing I wish she didn’t let me do now that I am older is get my my bottom lip pierced. Now that I am older I regret it so much. It left a small hole/ scar on the side of my lip and it’s something I regret now.

Like in this day and age, I feel everything you are saying is not out of the norm. Let me flip this… what if they don’t want shave their hairy legs? They won’t get rid of their unibrow or mustache? They rock very hairy pits with tank tops or pretty dresses on special occasions? Couldn’t care less about makeup or having a hairstyle?

This is exactly how my mom was. It was so refreshing as a kid to have this freedom. It came with talks and what not, but those things were never an issue.

My moms a literal hairdresser but I wish she wasn’t because anytime I need my hair done it’s always later later later. I need an actual appointment. Then when I ask her too much boom I gotta pay for someone else to do it now. I’m 15 btw. I get my hair done maybe twice a year.
