I love the strict no shoes in the house rule in Japan, it’s so much cleaner because of that. In Germany every stairwell will be dirty. Sand and mud everywhere and it just gross . Has to do with the people obviously cause Germans love leaving their trash empty cans bags canisters and everything else just lying around on public places
