Just wanted to add that you should never give a cow more than one magnet because of how magnets react to each other, if you’re not sure if a cow has a magnet you can move a compass around the outside where the reticulum stomach is on a cow

we have a large scale dairy and every one of the animals gets a magnet. I swear cows eat anything haha. We also have magnets on all equipment. The feed truck has two and the chopper has one and an alert system.

My grandpa was a large animal vet and we had those magnets around our house and he gifted me one of those guns. I don’t know what I ever did with it because I never had a cow 🤣 but I always thought it was so interesting

Couple helpful tips??? The metal balling guns work so much better when putting in a magnet. And when I'm trying to administer something into my cows mouth, I grab ahold of their nose. They don't move near as much. I don't have a head catch at the house, just tied to the fence.
