Socialism is great until you run out of other people’s money. It is a race to the bottom. Nothing is free. Higher taxes to pay for the free stuff will run rich people away requiring higher taxes on the rest with more and more basic and substandard goods and services offered. You are telling the elite to take more of your money(taxes) and they will extract fees and middleman cuts to siphon millions to enrich themselves. What is left will be used to buy substandard goods which they will then SELL you those goods that you ALREADY paid for with higher taxes(think grocery).real estate and rent control; If I was a real estate investor why would an investor buy real estate to rent out if they can’t increase rent over time to offset rising costs. Real estate taxes go up every year, insurance goes up every year, construction materials and labor go up every year. The government aims for 2 percent inflation every year causing the price of every to increase by the rate of inflation every year but your not allowed to pass the costs to the consumer via rent through rent control. Then it does not incentivize investment in real estate if the investment loses money every year. The government forces prices up every year. This is their stated goal when they want 2 percent inflation. Also when they charge higher real estate taxes which cause you to charge higher rent to offset the taxes then the higher rent is more income on paper and that higher income means more income tax. The costs for real estate are expensive and rising because of political decisions. They create a problem and tell you they are the solution
