If commission salesman acted like the first guy, they’d sell more cars and hold more gross. BUT you have to be good at justifying your pricing and building trust in each step of the sale.

I think it’s crazy people “expect” a discount, you don’t go to a supermarket and ask for a discount on your weekly shop, don’t get me wrong. Bit more for the trade, then yeah. But cars a priced to sell, otherwise you wouldn’t be sitting opposite the salesman 😂

Thoughts on dealerships saying that there are manditory fees set by the manufacturer (I was force to buy Triton protection pack and Car RX GPS). Was like $1600 extra fees (that were going to incure interest) and he and the finance manager kept arguing with me.

thats one major thing stopping me from car shopping. why do I have to blow 8 hours watching a sales guy walk to and from his bosses office and hear him say "ok my boss has NEVER done this before" 12 times in the same day

funny enough i’m looking to buy my first car from a dealership. i have looked at 2 different cars and seen both styles. the commission man will “talk” to his manager just to come back with an excuse while the salary worker will genuinely go talk to his manager and come back with a changed offer that is usually better but not perfect. seeing both sides of the coin i can deal with either or, but i genuinely would orefer salary salesperson. they just make the whole process more streamlined and feels honest.

Don't like the back and forth? Sticker is quicker. "Can't wait to buy direct from manufacturer." Ok. You'll still have to deal with a sales person. You're not buying from the assembly line guy.

Customers, I hate negotiating I can’t wait to buy my manufacture. Dealer has discount pricing no negotiations. customers- they don’t negotiate they don’t want to sell cars.
