I was taught if the WR releases outside of you.. if you let them at least you need to run with them.. you’re exposing the safety if you don’t

For the second route if he on your zone doing that curl route just put your hands on him idk why he backpedaled more back giving the QB a chance to throw to him and gain a couple of yards

Gotta get him working the inside shade and then working out. As an ex WR the DB's in C2 who wouldn't even shade the inside were free yards. The elite DB's shade and have the speed to sink quicker to make up for the lost step.

lol was playing cover 2 just like this for my unit team in the Army and was told I didn't know what I was doing. over a 8 game season and playoffs opposing QBs threw my way 2x both incomplete. I get that the competition wasn't up to party but if they aren't throwing my way clearly the guy isn't open.
