I say “I at times over commit myself by accepting tasks that others aren’t able to complete on top of my own tasks, and I’ve been working on that by creating my own task lists by priority and if the highest priority tasks have been completed then i can add more to my plate without the concern of being overwhelmed” I’m not sure if that’s good or not but it’s just something I’ve learned personally about myself.

I use “I am working on my ability to say no. I will always help out where I can especially if my peers need assistance but sometimes I have to many tasks and deadlines on my own plate that I am learning to say I am swamped at the moment but when I get this project submitted I’ll touch base and see where I can assist you”

I was asked as a question on an interview, and I said my greatest weakness is chocolate as long as there’s no chocolate around to tempt me I’m good. I wanted to say something memorable that the interviewer would remember and also brighten their day and make me stand down.

Good advice! My only issue is saying your weak with a certain tool. Yes if it’s something that you might not use in the role but if it’s similar to another tool that you are supposed to use than they might question if you can work with that tool as well. For example if you say you’re not good with Excel they might question if you can use Airtable. I would stay away from talking about tech or software weaknesses completely.

I talk about when I was younger and being an introvert bf getting into retail, and a weakness of getting nervous in speaking to more than one person. But after many years of management in retail, I am result driven and do not have a problem with speaking to a group now. At my current job in retail, I am constantly interacting with so many people and being saught out either by customers or coworkers for help. And working a closing shift, I am usual 1 of 3 for total store. If you can learn from your weakness then they can be used as building blocks.

My son’s old boss was a reference for him. The reference was asked what his employee’s weakness is. He said he’s too humble.
