I'm in England. If someone is detained you need a reasonable suspicion of a crime who you detain doesn't needs to show identification unless under arrest they admit there's no crime. They don't have to help you with the investigation. Do American cops use the TV series The Dukes of Hazard as a training video.

She thinks that she talks with authority she’s right. She has just built an incredible case for a lawsuit. She can’t articulate a crime and she’s going to want your ID in if you check out you’re free to go. What does an ID tell her about the situation she’s currently investigating? Nothing she’s looking for a warrant so she can collar you.

the 4th amendment is not negotiable. we the people are not required to help you with an investigation. The Police has an amount of time to conduct an investigation period. The police act like we are under Marshall law. Are we????? ask yourself

By their training it it drummed into them to get ID at EVERY encounter and as most citizens automatically give it as they don’t know their rights or can’t be bothered to stand up to them. So the police get the false sense that everything they say you MUST do so anyone who doesn’t is an automatic threat! Laws don’t matter, evidence doesn’t matter and they must assert dominance through force to ‘control’ the situation, no deescalation just escalation of force and officer numbers.
