Yes, prison may be punishment however that doesn’t mean that a human should be stripped of their basic human rights, especially when it comes to meals and proper nutrition. It is the words job OK the government job to feed these inmates and care for these inmates even if they are serving sentences in crimes, they are still human beings and they still deserve to be fed actual food like an actual human being

We served something called a log for inmates on lock who were violent at the prison I worked at. It was the same meal everyone else was served except it was grinded up and served to you in the shape of a log. So if they had peas, turkey, and rice they would grind it all up together and mold it in the shape of a log. You would eat that until you were deemed non violent or compliant for all 3 meals.

Prison is supposed to be a deterrent - they are being fed, 3 hots and a cot. Starving them would be cruel and u usual.
