Once you get a good project manager it makes life so much better. Mine now uses stand up and planning to gather any context we need then they go out and meet with everyone to gather all that context. I never have to meet non technical people anymore and it saves me hours of not days a week 😭😭😭

I was a dev, I'm now a scrum master..."I'm still working on X" is fine sometimes but you know that saying that for multiple days with 0 extra detail frequently means "I finished 2 days ago and am slacking off"

The Daily Scrum is not a status update, but for developers to talk about impediments. The Scrum Master or Product Owners don't even need to be there. But there are a lot of bad Scrum Masters. So that is why people have a bad experience with Scrum

I hate the demand for daily updates and then at the weekly meeting where all the same people copied in the emails pull “that face” when you say “i’ve nothing more than the 6 emails you’ve had including one last night at 1am”. And the whole meeting goes really quiet cos nobody else has anything to drag the meeting out another 43 minutes.

standup is always run by devs in my team (we rotate who hosts) and sometimes it’s as short as 5 mins 😇

The pm on my team doesn’t come to standup it lasts 10-15 minutes for 8 devs to go around a circle and just say what they’re gonna do with some chit chat before and after
