Though his brother tried to hide the evidence, it was made clear through letters that tchaikovsky found himself attracted to men, of which caused debate and controversy for a while. Tchaikovsky for a short while would marry a woman named Antonia Miliukova (believing this could rid himself of his attraction), however this only lasted 2 months, ending in himself having a nervous breakdown and setting off on a trip abroad. Throughout his life, he wrote many letters describing men he had seen. He never would public express his homosexuality, however he did share this with his brothers.
