|| Jason Todd/Red Hood edit 60FPS || Song: CORTISOL BAIXO || #jasontodd #dc #edit #viral #fyp The Tragedy and Triumph of Jason Todd: From Robin to Red Hood Among the many characters who have worn the iconic R-emblazoned costume of Robin, Jason Todd stands out as the most complex, tragic, and fiercely resilient. His journey from a street-smart orphan to a fallen hero, and ultimately to a lethal vigilante, remains one of the most compelling arcs in comic book history. The Street Urchin Who Stole the Batmobile's Tires Introduced as the second Robin after Dick Grayson moved on to become Nightwing, Jason’s origins were rooted in the gritty, impoverished streets of Gotham City. Batman first encountered a young Jason in Crime Alley—the very place Bruce Wayne’s parents were murdered—while the boy was brazenly trying to steal the tires off the Batmobile. Seeing potential, fierce determination, and a desperate need for guidance, Bruce took Jason in. Unlike Dick Grayson, who possessed natural athletic grace and a bright disposition, Jason was: Rebellious and angry: Fueled by a rough childhood and systemic injustice. Aggressive in combat: Often pushing the boundaries of Batman’s strict no-kill rule. Deeply empathetic: Highly protective of the vulnerable, though his methods were increasingly volatile. "A Death in the Family" Jason’s impetuous nature ultimately led to his downfall in the famous 1988 storyline, A Death in the Family. After tracking down his biological mother to Ethiopia, Jason was betrayed by her and captured by the Joker. In a brutal and defining moment for DC Comics, the Joker savagely beat Jason with a crowbar and left him in a warehouse rigged with explosives. Batman arrived moments too late; the warehouse blew up, and Jason Todd was killed. Comic History Fact: Jason’s death was actually decided by the fans. DC Comics set up a 1-900 number where readers could vote on whether Robin should live or die. By a narrow margin of just 72 votes, the audience chose death. For nearly two decades, Jason’s death was Batman’s greatest failure, symbolized by the Robin costume kept in a glass display case inside the Batcave. Under the Red Hood: The Resurrection Death is rarely permanent in comic books. In 2005, writer Judd Winick revived Jason Todd in the landmark storyline Under the Red Hood. Resurrected via reality-altering events (and later attributed to the healing, madness-inducing waters of the Lazarus Pit by Ra's al Ghul), Jason returned to Gotham. However, he was no longer the boy wonder. Adopting the moniker Red Hood—an identity originally used by the Joker—Jason became a ruthless crime lord and vigilante. Jason’s new philosophy contrasted sharply with Batman's: he believed that crime couldn't be stopped, only controlled. If a criminal was too dangerous to be left alive, Jason would eliminate them permanently. The Anti-Hero and the Bat-Family Over the years, Jason Todd’s relationship with Batman and the rest of the Bat-Family evolved from bitter enmity to a fragile truce. He learned to channel his rage, occasionally putting away his lethal firearms in favor of non-lethal rubber bullets to respect Bruce's code during joint operations. As the leader of the Outlaws, Jason found a surrogate family of misfits who understood what it was like to be outcasts. Today, Jason occupies a unique, essential space in Gotham. He is the black sheep—the one willing to walk in the darkest shadows and do what Batman cannot, or will not, do to protect the innocent.
