In a brutal and defining moment for DC Comics, the Joker savagely beat Jason with a crowbar and left him in a warehouse rigged with explosives. Batman arrived moments too late; the warehouse blew up, and Jason Todd was killed. Comic History Fact: Jason’s death was actually decided by the fans. DC Comics set up a 1-900 number where readers could vote on whether Robin should live or die. By a narrow margin of just 72 votes, the audience chose death.
