cool old trick if the trade yeah, but i'd be done with all the base and shoe/quarter round for 2 or 3 rooms by the time you finished that one piece of Base. my personal preference and opinion is I think shoe and quarter round gives for a better finished aesthetic. 🤷🏼

3/4” corner round can look cheap, but there are alternative options. We did a 1”x1/4” w/ 1/8” round outter edge. More shadow lines generally look better imo, plus you can almost guarantee no dust will fit under edge.
