You need a thimble. So much easier. The little divots in the thimble snug your needle so you have more leverage to push. 💙

are there any chances that the last loops from the right and left sides of the loops might slip from the piece of leather, in time just because the leather is not long enough after trimming it?

I haven’t seen the rice paper used before! If you were to do it without the rice paper and just sew the cord as is - would you do exactly the same technique? 😊
