@teachinginstyle: Here are some things I think new teachers should be aware of as someone going into year 5 🍎 let me know in the comments what other tips you have for new teachers! #teachersoftiktok #teachertok #teacher #teacherlife
Heavy on knowing who you can trust! My first year, I vented to my mentor about our principal not treating me fairly and she went and told our principal what I had said 🙃

More like teachers ARE gossips. I agree tho be careful who you talk to and want people to know.

any recommendations of how to document stuff? do you just write it down in just a notebook or in a different way like I saw some people used Google sheets

HEAVY on not recording and posting students. I don’t understand why people think it’s okay. Also, DONT GIVE KIDS YOUR PHONE # or interact with them on social media. I couldn’t believe it when my admin had to address it at our last staff meeting.

Assume you work with adults that happen to be in your grade level. middle school teachers can act just as messy as middle schoolers. high school teachers? the same. Be friendly, watch your back, don't add to your sm.

Hi,I’m going into student teaching. Do you think it’s better to have a personal labtop and then the school giving me a labtop. Just have those two labtop in the class.

My mentor teacher (when I was student teaching) told me to not join our union until I’m tenured. Is that something I should do?

The amount of vids I see of teachers filming their students... 🫠 if a teacher even tries to point a camera at me for non school purposes my mom is being informed expeditiously and knowing her she won't rest until they lose their license

Agreed with all, especially the gossip. I wouldn’t gossip to anyone, no matter how close you are, they will open their mouth at some point.
