It demanded strength, endurance, and mental grit. So I trained week after week, pushing my limits. Then, five days before race day… My lower back gave out. A recurring slipped disc flared up during my final simulation. I could barely move. But I wasn’t ready to give up. I went all-in on recovery. Anti-inflammatories, daily stretches, light mobility work. Doing everything I could to get back on my feet. Because deep down, I knew: I needed to show up. Not at 100%. But with 100% commitment. I scaled smart. Moved with care. And kept going, through the pain, through the doubt. Every station was a question: Can my body take this? I scaled when I had to. Pushed through pain when I didn’t have to. And kept going not because I was unbreakable, but because I refused to stay broken. Crossing that finish line wasn’t just physical. It was a reminder of who I promised to be when I started this journey. To anyone chasing a goal: You won’t always have perfect conditions. Show up anyway.
