Not knowing your therapist’s life helpt by say goodbye at the end. I only miss her as a therapist. I don’t know how she is in private.

Unfortunately, in my experience that has never been true. I sort of need to know some things. For example, if you don’t tell me you have kids I won’t appreciate where you come from if your share thoughts when I’m having issues. I may not give you any credence in understanding me. You are never a blank slate

Therapy needs a warning label. It can stop careers that require signing away medical. privacy rights. THERAPY IS NOT CONFIDENTIAL FOR SOME CAREERS.

I have two therapists and it is not one-way with either of them! The majority of our sessions are definitely about me, but I know insanely intimate things about them and a ton of regular "personal" stuff, that for everyone else is not considered personal. I need to speak to people- I can get responses from AI if I want a sounding board. I have never been more successful in therapy since seeing these two and I adore them both.

While in theory this is true, as a psych nurse and & PMHNP student, I’ve seen that sometimes blank slate therapists have the opposite effect. Sometimes clients worry about their therapist’s orientation BECAUSE they know nothing about them. I think this is a fine line providers need to walk, and more importantly, something that plays into the process of finding the right therapist. Sometimes disclosure within ethical boundaries is revolutionary for healing!

Oh, i think that i would be the problem here. I judge a lot and focus on all details. That's why it is hard for me to like engage with people without getting annoyed. So, i think and believe that having an ambiguity view of your life is such a significance here. Especially for me 😂
