For me personally I love this trend. Especially as someone who is huskier, wider silhouettes I think look better on me overall than something skinner, as someone who has tried to wear 501s and 505s

I think it’s very dependent on how baggy we’re talking. The 12+ inch leg openings a lot of these Instagram brands are producing is definitely just a trend. Something with around a 10 inch leg opening seems like it could have more longevity.

any type of jean is timeless if it fits your body type. straighter and slimmer jeans look weird on me since i have an athletic build with bigger thighs. baggier pants make me look better and therefore i think will last me forever. but that’s not the case for everyone

You say it’s young compared to wool, linen, silk; those are fibres, not fabrics. You can’t really make this comparison though, because cotton as a textile fibre is just as old as those you mentioned.
