@mtn.alice: If you wait to accept your body until it is perfect, you'll end up waiting forever. For far too long, I let insecurity rob me of joy, acceptance and peace with my body. It's time that I'll never get back. In my one wild and precious life I choose to love my body no matter what, and the amazing things it does for me. In the running world it's easy to think self-limiting thoughts like "I need to look a certain way before I'll be able to PR a distance." It's easy to think that success = having to be a certain weight, have a certain amount of muscle mass, etc. While there is nuance to the conversation (muscle mass helps with injury prevention, etc) I think it's easy for us hobby runners to get way too hypercritical of ourselves. This glitter belly got me a new half marathon PR of 1:55:27 💫 proud!!!
