I would look into sealing the edges along the baseboards with hot glue (instead of caulk) so nothing yucky gets in the cracks.

Just be careful with the self cleaning litter boxes, I’ve heard some bad stories about them regarding cats being injured from them.

Wait. Why would you tile over carpet? Even if you put ply wood, that’s like building a foundation on mud, and then building a house on top of it thinking the foundation won’t crack.

Sooo I did this for my formal dining room… plywood down then laminate flooring. After 2-3 years I pulled it all up and come to find out it was horribly molded. Nothing was ever spilled 🥲 just a warning 😣

Pellet litter is way cheaper, smells better and doesn’t track around the house. Def look into that.
