subtitles hide your mistakes. the day i started watching anime without them, i started HEARING everything i'd been doing wrong. these four are the ones i see every english speaker make (past me included, some twice): narrating your own biopic with 私は in every sentence, treating は and が like english articles instead of topic vs new information, first-naming people you just met because anime bros do it, and answering 「行かないの?」 with english yes/no logic — in japanese, うん agrees with the assumption, so うん、行かない means you're NOT going. that one cost me a group dinner. the only thing that actually un-learns these is saying them wrong out loud and getting corrected immediately. i do that in Kana - Language Partner — you speak with your voice and the ai character answers in voice and fixes you in real time, no human witnesses. free to start — the app is in my bio. save this before your next conversation 📌 #anime #learnjapanese #nihongo #jlpt #studytok
