Also important to note that pla (or petg) with inclusions (sparkles, marble) may not be food safe. PETG is technically food safe as well, but has the same issue with bacteria and layer lines.

ppl worry about color bleaching, if you plan on making cups, and bowls, food storing containers... then you need food... soaking cookie cutters in bleach... all good

I was under the assumption that it's not the filament itself but the layer lines bonding to each other and not leaving gaps for the bacteria to form. even if the filament is food grade the finished product most likely is not

with the pla going through the printer it has a high chance of not being food safe without being cleaned by something first
