Doesn’t seem like that would help very much. The coils are on the side that’s what needs to be protected from dirt leaves and whatever best thing you can do is spray your AC coil down from the outside after you turned it off, of course You should probably do it weekly during the summer with all the mowing grass clippings and dirt getting in
