@tawnyplatis: How To Get What You Want In Life By Using Voice Acting Techniques 🧠 1. How to be taken seriously We’re gonna start with what to do if you want to be taken seriously. People perceive lower voices as more confident and trustworthy because we associate a lower pitch with authority. So if you want to be taken seriously, like in a negotiation or conflict, drop your pitch just slightly and speak from your diaphragm. 🧊 2. How to sound in control If you want to sound like you’re in control, speak at a slower pace. Fast talkers sound nervous. Slow your speech by just 10–15%, and you’ll come across as more thoughtful, more powerful, and way more in control. 😌 3. How to ask for a favor If you want to ask for a favor or are trying to de-escalate tension, warmth and vocal smile actually matter more than confidence. Add just a touch of softness and upward inflection. And if you're already doing this naturally, you’re actually using performance psychology! #voiceacting #voiceactor #voiceover #movies #tvshows #millennial #auntietawny

I'm late diagnosed autistic and adhd with a special interest in people and communication. As a kid I figured out inflection and facial expressions changed how words were understood, and intentionally applied them🤔

Has there been any measurable adjustment of these perceptions with the recent short form audio and increased use of adjusting playback speed to 2x?

I really love that you brought up de-escalation. You're completely right. Another fun fact is you can subconsciously control another's volume. example if you start whispering others will lower their voice to match yours.

I'm not a voice actor, but I've recently discovered that my accent has become my greatest weapon in meetings. I work & live in New York (state, not city) & my Southern drawl crossed w/ a contralto voice get folks to pay attention 9 times out of 10.

Great examples and points!! I very much enjoy public speaking (and all of your content) 😁. Question: is there any sound editing at all going on when you give your examples? I am just amazed at the sudden shift in sound quality and clarity and just wonder if perhaps at least something basic is being done in audio engineering. Obviously your amazing talent is completely independent of any engineering.
