I’ve been thinking a lot about where AI is taking us, and honestly, I feel like it’s going to bring about a post-work society at some point. The way things are moving, if a job can be done on a computer, then sooner or later an AI is probably going to be able to do it better and faster. And if that’s true, then I really don’t see a future without some form of Universal Basic Income (UBI). It’s not just about replacing jobs, though. The part that actually excites me is what it could unlock. If AI handles the repetitive stuff — the things we just do to survive — then people can focus more on creativity, family, hobbies, learning, and solving problems we usually push aside because they don’t pay the bills. I think about things like: •	AI running agriculture at scale so world hunger isn’t even a thing anymore. •	Automating research so diseases that aren’t “profitable” for companies to cure finally get attention. •	Everyday people being able to start projects, explore passions, or just live without worrying if they can pay rent. That’s a totally different kind of future. Of course, there’s always the other side of the argument. History shows that every big technology shift created new jobs, even if it killed old ones. The industrial revolution, the internet… all those things caused disruption, but they also created careers no one could imagine at the time. Maybe AI will just do the same thing, and we’ll look back and laugh at the idea of a “post-work” world. But to me, AI feels different. We’re not just talking about machines that build things faster. We’re talking about systems that can think, learn, and adapt. That’s a whole other level. And once that’s in play, I don’t see how the current model of “go to work, earn a paycheck, survive” can really keep going long term. That’s why I think UBI — in some form — is going to be part of our future. Not necessarily tomorrow, but down the line it just seems inevitable. So yeah… that’s where my head’s at. 👉 Do you think we’re headed for a post-work society? 👉 Is UBI something that’s going to happen, or will humans just keep finding new kinds of jobs like always? 👉 Would AI free us, or just change what “work” means? Curious what you think — I feel like this is one of those conversations where everyone has a different perspective.
