Let the ECM do its job!! My ISX 15 comes on at 210. I don’t ever push that fan button. Mine cycles to 210 down to 200 , and repeat when I’m under heavy loads like this.

I overheated once climbing Parleys summit out of SLC on a 104° day toting 135k, the heat buildup on my 550 Cat was too rapid for the fan cycle to keep up with. So yeah, small grades and reasonable temps and weight, I let her cycle, but on a 5-7 mile 6% on a hot day with weight? My dirty little skinners flick that fan switch on at the bottom. Oh, and that 5EK went a million doing heavy haul before it was rebuilt.

I have to let out of her on the big hills to keep it from throwing the stop engine light. I try not to let my egt’s get over 1050. What would be the cause of this? My first non emission motor 3406e 2ws stock 550 with just over half a million. THANKS love your content.
