As a tech, please ignore the negative comments, unfortunately Pavo treatment is not cheap and sometimes at home treatment is all you have and it’s at least something to try and I’m glad it worked for your baby

entirely possible. parvo is a virus. you have to just ride it out and keep their body hydrated and stable until it passes. we rarely hospitalize parvo dogs but usually do out patient treatments thst consist of fluids, antibiotics, vitamins, herbal remedies, and dewormers. they usually do well especially larger breeds

Very lucky. Usually when people take them home to treat they come back within 2 days either dead or heading there. Parvo is terrible! Please everyone vaccinate and don’t take the puppy ANYWHERE until they have the full sets of vaccines.

everyone bitching but I've helped save many pups from parvo at home. key is keeping them hydrated. it's a long stressful situation but fluids pumped every 2 hours. even with vet care it's still not likely for them to survive.

Parvovirus survival swings wildly. I have seen dogs hospitalize perfectly normal, just a positive test, and they crash. I have seen dogs knocking at the door and survive. Aside from the CPMA injection, treatment is symptomatic, and their body simply has to try. I am glad yours did well at home, but that is only ever the case 50% of the time.

this is so so lucky. this never happens and parvo is typically devastating for the pet and family. please don’t encourage others to take that chance/risk with their dogs!!

We’ve had a lot of success with the monoclonal antibody treatment that has recently came out. We have been able to give one dose send home some supportive care like sub, Q fluids and give anti-vomiting medication and I don’t think we have seen one pass away yet. It’s definitely a life-changing development in the treatment of Parvo patients. Hospitalizing for days on in is no longer required..

ive seen many parvo cases in my time working at shelters and rescues and the amount of people who come in AFTER they think thier hone remedies “worked” is astronomical .
