Generally take your out of warranty car to a smaller repair shop because their reputation is their life. If they cheat people they will not last long. The national repair chains less so….

Ya just weld the spring, no even better zip tie to the top mount so the rattle goes away. 10 minute job lol.

no hate, I know what it takes and costs to run a shop. I own a mk4 jetta TDI. just did front lower control arms, lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, rear wheel bearings and rear springs, parts all from Amazon, like $70 for springs, $50 for wheel bearings, and $150 for all the front end parts. only have upper balls left and she's mint! in a shop, like $3000 work, which is why I got educated 30 years ago and bought some tools over time, much more affordable. 😏 I need forscan next, damn SRS calibration ina '14 fiesta got me angry, I'm not paying the cost of the service tool for someone else to do the service for me, then I can repair the next one for free! that's the trade off, learn and save, or don't learn and pay! it's like being a dentist or vet tech, pay or learn!
