@lamartoler: Stepping outside Saddam’s abandoned palace in Babylon 👣 We’re outside now @Hussein Hashem, and the view is wild. This palace was built high above the ruins of ancient Babylon not just for the view, but to send a message: Saddam wanted to place himself literally above history. You can see the Euphrates River in the distance and the land once ruled by empires thousands of years ago. It’s quiet out here now… no guards, no power, no regime. Just the sound of wind and the echoes of the past. This place was meant to impress and even though it’s abandoned, you can still feel the weight of what it once was.
