So, Dealers tags are stolen all the time because criminals know they can change the plate from one stolen car to another and the police cannot tell the tag is on a stolen car because the tag is not registered to any vehicle it is only registered to the dealership, so police will pull over people that are used the dealer tags to verify from time to time that they are legitimate, it is the only way to verify it is not stolen, it is legal to test drive vehicles home as a dealer anytime anywhere legally, because we have to make sure the vehicles are sound before we sell them, all new car stores drive demos home that are brand new, cops don’t like it because as a dealer we are allowed to do so, and it is one right we have that they do not so they some
