former mortician here. some cemeteries are full. and alot of the spots in cemeteries are already pre-paid and spoken for,that's why you don't see new ones. also alot of cemeteries just make additional space within the existing cemetery

After heard that after 100 years, when there’s no family left tending to the graves, the remove what was there. Supposedly when you buy your plot you’re buying it for 100 years or so

I tried to find a relative in a popular cemetery in Los Angeles area and they were not buried where they use to be. The cemetery dug them up after 50 years and cremated the remains and resold the actual area.

My dad is buried on top of his his dad. He has his own grave stone but his tomb is technically 2 feet over his dad’s tomb, that is 6 feet under

I've seen 4 cemeteries expand. Pay attention to parks next to cemeteries... they are the future cemetery. My childhood soccer fields are now final resting spot... I should get a plot there

In my home town you buy a family plot- it’s sold per person plus a little more money and they stack you. My grandpa is at the bottom, on top of him is my uncle, then when my cousin died they put him at the top. In my grandmas plot they’ll put my aunt and other cousin since my mom plans to be cremated she gave her spot to my aunt

ACTUALLY, grave plots are only rented for 90 years. After 90 years someone else is put in that plot.
