Also, depending on the type of fabric you can make a small snip at the correct width along the selvage edge of the fabric then tear along the grain. Less cutting necessary, faster, and creates straighter lines!

How dark did it make the area since you can’t get reflective light from the inside and you layers so much fabric I know it won’t shine out the shade.

If you iron the crease of the fold it’ll look nice and crisp but it’ll be a little easier to work with too

OK but be FRFR. I have a touch of the OCD and if you can see where the fabric overlaps where it’s glued down when the lamp is turned on it will drive me crazy. Is this the case here? Is your fabric heavy enough and dark enough that you don’t see it through the lampshade when it’s turned on?
