Barbour wax is much softer than otter or filson. I am sure it mixes well with the tough Carhartt. however I have waxed things before, and if I was waxing a Carhartt jacket (which I have before) I would use filson or otter wax. I've used otter was on Carhartt and it was bulletproof. used it working on barges in -20 and it was a unit.
