The fact that Carmy has a sister and they’ve NEVER had an argument like this. I mean, just compare Carmy and Natalie’s argument from S3E3 to Carmy and Syndey’s in S4E10. NOT a brother and sister dynamic. Then compare Carmy and Claire’s argument from S4E3 to Carmy and Sydney’s from S4E10. People either just don’t want them to be together or they just aren’t paying attention.

How can people not see it? Then again a lot of people are horrendous at picking up any actual romantic subtexts. Like they are only listening to the what of they are saying not the how. Bc yes Sugar argues with Carmy about similar things with the restaurant but howwww Carmy is arguing with Syd about stuff is not the same delivery at all.

They have a mentor mentee relationship. I say this because Carmy is toxic. He takes advantage of their relationship. I want Sydney to have a soft love that doesn't leave her stressed or picking up the weight of a restaurant. She has a fear of failure and his selfish behavior triggers this stress. I don't worship struggle love. Tension and chemistry are sometimes clues that this person is not safe.
