@sillylittlelabrat: Do your tendons roll over your knuckles and catch when opening and closing your hands? This can be due to a connective tissue disorder known as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. You see my boyfriends hand with healthy connective tissue vs my hand and what a difference there is. This can cause strain and tendinitis. Your knuckles may fatigue, faster, or feel weak because your body has to recruit more effort to stabilize the joints. It can also lead to compensatory overuse of other muscles in your hand and forearm. Overtime it can increase your risk of sprains and pain in the hands. You may notice trouble with buttons, writing, or lifting and reduced strength when opening jars or holding heavy objects. Things that you can do would be hand therapy, splinting or taping, modifying activities and consulting with a hand specialist to talk about braces another options. do you have this?! ##ehlersdanlossyndrome##eds##heds##hypermobility##hypermobile##knuckles##tendonitis##rollingtendons##handspecialist##occupationaltherapy##silversingsplints##zebras##chronicillness##connectivetissuedisorder##issueswithmytissues
It's also important to note that hEDS symptoms present like a spectrum. We don't all present the same.

I didn't appreciate how much they aren't supposed to slide at all. I really thought some sliding was normal

Rolling the tendons off of my knuckles at will has always been a gross party trick I pull out for new people. Many people gag. Great success.

Woah I never knew that! I’ve also discovered that tingling is a common symptom because your nerves also slide around like this!!

My hands are so soft, you can see and feel that I’m hypermobile! I’m an esthetician and when I used to do a lot of facial treatments I always got complimented on it. When I did massages you could hear my joints subluxate 😂
