On a cultural anthropological level with these karens, I see a need that is being fulfilled for them. Attention yes but also a requirement to be set upon by society. They need this experience as they seek it out. Are they out of control regardless of this experience? I think yes. I am older and I recall the mentality of you don’t love me unless you will hurt me. I wonder about generational imprinting? Do they seek the abuse but they are safe from abuse? It is a profile that they fulfill. I wonder how many human behaviors are prerecorded for playback? I dated a borderline and she would tell me about her past and then try to recreate the drama with me. So she basically turned me into an npc. I caught that and started canceling out the drama. My blessing was her leaving. Wow I survived to live another day.
