I honestly think this was an Avatar of The Mad Prince talking using Shadow Dance to shadow Nightmare’s powers to appear in his Dream because we see all the transformation abilities of the rest of the Corrupted Cohort/Six Plauges but never clearly see the Mad Prince’s transformation ability to make Avatars, which also leads me to a potential theory where The Mad Prince left an Avatar behind just incase if his resurrection plan didn’t work because it would be kind of foolish to not use an ability that literally allows you to be at create extra versions of yourself and be multiple places at once so that potentially if the plan did fail you would at least have a backup plan so that a version of yourself could escape and live on to corrupt yourself especially for a corrupted version of Sunny.
