One of the best things about that interaction is they clearly Starfire has never looked at Cyborg likes half robot and half human. She was surprised when she said “you know what it’s like to be judged off appearance?” Starfire doesn’t understand race or how abnormal Cyborgs overall appearance is. She only sees her friend

key difference in a lot of these older shows is this. Cyborg is very obviously different, thrust into a life he didn't choose. it's much more dramatic than simply the color of his skin, but the same lesson applies. nowadays, these lessons arent taught the way they should be, and instead are twisted with an ulterior motive or just straight up impressing agendas onto kids. this is a simple life lesson. and thats all it is.
