@gregrexadams: #greenscreen E85 has a lot of benefits that make it worth using. I am amazed at the number of car enthusiasts that still have no clue #cartok #tiktokautocampaign
no, do not put e85 in any non flex fuel car. the injectors and fuel map are not set up for it. e85 needs a lot more fuel than gas does. you need the flex fuel sensor to tell it what fuel is in the line so it knows how to adjust the fuel map. the O2 sensor is not enough to make that adjustment.

All these e85 haters are insane. E85 is an amazing fuel and I run it in EVERYTHING!!!

E85 is awesome. I’d still argue a flex fuel sensor and a tune is the correct approach here, because you want to advance timing on E85 and the ethanol percentage from batch to batch is not consistent.

I don't understand why in 2025 we don't have ethanol sensors in every performance vehicle stock.

Most see e85 and they probably think it's 85 octane.

I love E85. I went 8's in the 1/4 in a car I drove to the track with E85 from the pump at Royal Farms. Hell, it isn't even really good E85.

Ethanol is so misunderstood, I run it on everything, i even got my 400ex mixed at 60% ethanol it loves it, very helpful on a aircooled engine

I run pump e85 in my s10 street truck. Weighs almost 4000lb and has been 8.7 at 155. I’m hoping with new mechanical pump to run 8.5 and 160mph.

You’re only getting the performance benefits out of E 85 if it’s good quality E 85, I’ve tested a lot of gas stations that are definitely not up to par

so even with widebands, wont the car still target 14:1? instead of 9.8
coyotes will use the widebands to infer ethanol content but only with flex logic turned on in the tune. just curious if chevys strategy is similar, only ever tuned my mustang

I've been debating adding flex to my CTSV. I'm at 813hp on 93. Just not sure it's worth the effort to chase a few more HP.

I really don't know a lot about E85 but I was running it in my daily for a while and I was told by multiple people that it dilutes oil significantly more than gas and since I put 3-4000 miles between oil changes I stopped using it cuz it sketched me out. Will it be an issue or should I just run it?

N54 owner here. I am currently dialing in a flex fuel tune with 4 maps on my car and I’m so exited for 600 ish whp. My only concern about the e85 is that if I consistently leave my car for a week or two between driving it will my injectors get gummed up over time.

don't you have to run different gaskets and have larger injectors

I only run e85 or e90 on 40 to 55 psi boost at 10.5 comp ratio.
I guess if these kids of today don't know, they just never will know. I'd scroll past the post and deal with the guy directly that posted and spend your time to educate him rather.

I always figured you just need a flex fuel sensor and fuel lines/injectors that can handle e85 (and a tune obv) then you can run e85 it. Cool to know that a lot of modern cars will adjust somewhat

Are you suggesting just putting E85 in bone stock cars, or making fun of their lack of knowledge as to performanc use? The C8s do not support flex fuel stock, correct? Lean codes, hard start problems, cars come to me after filling with E85 and having drivability problems. The car will only compensate if it has enough trim authority to compensate. And will likely set codes regardless with the total trim at +30%. Relying on trims to attempt to make a stock E10 gasoline map work with E85 takes away a lot of trim margin you have to protect the engine in case of a fuel control fault.
