Sounds like the typical narcissistic mother and scapegoat situation. Sadly, most people tend to support the fake narcissist since they do present themselves in public as such angels and they treat their golden children very differently from their scapegoats, so the children can also have very different opinions from their experiences as these narcissists children. They're truly the most insidious abusers because of their well polished but very superficial public image, and they make sure they'll have the support of the world if their victims ever dare to expose them.
