@t_nutrition_fitness: Replying to @LorenJay The reason you’re not losing on 1200 is cause…you’re not actually eating 1200. Study up starting here. “Discrepancy Between Self-Reported and Actual Caloric Intake and Exercise in Obese Subjects” “Persistent Metabolic Adaptation 6 Years After ‘The Biggest Loser’ Competition” Yeah, I know you thought that one supported you. But you didn’t actually look into the expenditure numbers of the study. Come back when you do. I would also suggest you read the follow up as well. “Energy Compensation and Metabolic Adaptation: ‘The Biggest Loser’ Study Reinterpreted” “Metabolic adaptation is an illusion, only present when participants are in negative energy balance” “Minnesota Starvation Experiment” “The Evolution of Very-Low-Calorie Diets: An Update and Meta-Analysis” “Advances in the understanding of specific metabolic rates of major organs and tissues in humans” “The scaling of human basal and resting metabolic rates” Hope you learned something. He’s absolutely right. From an evolutionary perspective, we had to adapt to periods when food was limited, so our bodies learned to switch between high and low metabolic states to survive. A caveman’s metabolism wasn’t running at full speed during harsh winters when food was extremely limited.

If you subtract 10 from 50 to make 40, the 50 doesn’t all of a sudden become more resilient and say “no. No I don’t think I will”

I fell for this bs on my first cut. When I was really fat and started eating in a deficit it melted off of me and when I got into a decent shape and the weight loss slowed down I just kept eating less and less till I was starving myself ended up looking like a twig 😭😭

For the longest time I was at “1700 calories” and not loosing any weight. It wasn’t until I started tracking literally everything I ate that I finally started to loose weight, down 6 lb in two weeks( partially water weight though)
