If you’re reading this while lying in bed with a tired body and a mind that refuses to shut off, just know there’s someone else out there doing the exact same thing. It’s such a strange kind of exhaustion when all you want to do is sleep, but the second everything around you gets quiet, everything inside of you gets loud. You replay conversations you can’t change. You think about people you miss. You question decisions you already made. You create scenarios that haven’t even happened. You think about everything you should’ve said, everything you wish you could undo, and everything you’re scared might happen next. And somehow the things you manage to carry all day feel ten times heavier when you’re alone with them. Maybe that’s the hardest part. During the day, there are distractions. There are responsibilities. There are people around. You can smile, laugh, work, train, scroll, and convince everyone, including yourself, that you’re doing okay. Then everything gets quiet. And suddenly you realize how much you’ve actually been carrying. So if you’re reading this because your mind won’t give you a break either, I hope eventually your thoughts become a little quieter. I hope whatever has been weighing on you starts making sense. And I hope one day you can close your eyes without having to fight your own mind first. Some of us aren’t staying awake because we aren’t tired. We’re exhausted. We just haven’t figured out how to rest from the things happening inside our heads. * Shastin24
