This is (Philip) Turner v. Driver, the auditor prevailed big time in court. They found his rights were violated under multiple amendments and he was awarded $200,000, and training for the department. One of the officers involved was said to have been indicted for a similar incident around the same time. The court also reversed qualified immunity for Grinalds and Dyess regarding only Turner's Fourth Amendment claim for unlawful arrest. Ignorance and ego got the boys in blue this time.

I think every time an officer violates somebody’s rights they should be able to get sued personally

You would think after a million videos about asking for id and then arresting someone for nothing the cops would figure it out

When you sue, sue him first and attach yourself to his 401k, bank accounts, any private assets and his pension. Then sue the department, pensions don’t last forever

That’s all their taught in the police academy “can i see your ID” “do you have any ID” 6 months to teach this but Kindergarten requires 10 months
Here's the thing. They do not hold officers accountable for the laws they break and we can do nothing but endure it.

Love that Corrupt Law Officials were held accountable & courts Turner vs. Driver & awarded $200k... Sad that taxpayers had to pay it.. Officers should have to pay it personally or have it held from their pension.
