They do them differently now, not as invasive and uncomfortable as before. Pretty sure it’s a simple blood test now. This is what I was told recently by a GP.

I was an extremely late bloomer to say the least and didn’t know you didn’t need one if you were a v!rgin because I had everyone telling me I still needed to because of my age so I went to get one just to be told that not only did I not need one that they literally legally can’t do it if you’re a v!rgin so yeah I literally spent $80 for nothing and to basically be reminded of my lack of seggs life lmao

okay but we need to stop scaring girls away from getting these 😭 it's really not that bad yes it's not nice having someone fiddle down there, but it honestly just feels like a pressure and a couple scrapes and your done. They are extremely important and NEED to be done.

im 23 and haven't had mine bc I have no insurnace. and id rather get the self test kits. idc i have had a horrific experience with every single doctor that has done any kind of exam on me. these mfs creeps.

LADIES. I saw my doctor last week, she informed me that soon we should be seeing an option for at home Pap smears. I explained how beneficial that would be considering the amount of gyno anxiety that exists among women. I just can’t help but feel like if we can test for Covid at home…these at home Pap smears cannot be that far out of reach!!

worst. my first one ever gave me issues cus she "did it wrong and had to do it again" a week after. I then had an infection on the scrape site & had to go there every 3 weeks for a year til it went away. never got one again, fuck all of that.

It really depends on who does them. I didn't get one until I was 29 because I was scared, but my provider was great. Talked through it all so there were no surprises, it was quick, barely felt anything. She was also using the newer style of instruments. 🤷♀️
