if I remember correctly, when i was very young there's this drama at ntv7 or 8tv and the drama was about nyonya culture and this lady was taught how to cook ayam pongteh properly but she was being rebellious because she hated the kitchen. i think at the end, this ayam pongteh became the symbolic of her becoming matured and she taught this recipe to other young ladies. wow can you believe this ayam pongteh managed to excavate this ancient memories from my head 😭
