We moved a few years ago to a silage contractor and it’s a disaster. Stuck in a queue. Pacing around the farm wanting to mow but you can’t because the contractor says he’s busy. Going back to doing our own next year. More stress waiting for them and fixing any mess they make.

we cut our own, works well picking up our own to get the best quality we can. a contractor doesn't have to deal with what they make for 6months in the winter. id rather be in charge of our own destiny.... also quite enjoy it 🤷♂️🤣

a few years of your own kit saves itself in money compared to a contractor but they 100% have a very valuable service

New machines break down too. Couldn’t be arsed trying to work with contractors to get silage done, far better being able to nip and do bits when it suits you.

You also get to control your final product better. We do our own hay in Texas, plus contract haying for other people. Its great to be able to make the exact product you need

Im not sure why youre on my FYP. Im an American Nurse who has only been to Scotland once and Im not a farmer. But regardless good content and you're very handsome. If you"re looking to save a girlie from the US and need a hand on the farm by all means. ☺️
