Yeah it seems like a card skimmer..? I haven’t seen one that looks like that yet but maybe it’s new, They read and save your card information so they can steal it and ur money. Unfortunately very common.

I’m not 100% sure but when you scan your phone or whatever the number on the card is supposed to be different every time to prevent theft but that was a good catch

It’s a sticker to protect the tap reader, if it was a skimmer there would be at least a mother board or battery connected to it

this isn't skimming, this is straight trying to charge you a set price. I don't think you can technically skim a card from tap as the data it sends isnt the as a swipe or insert. this guy probably setup a nfc tag that auto takes like 50$ and hoping people don't notice.
